tumblrbot asked: WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
re-think.
ok. so this past week has been no less crazy (in fact, maybe more crazy) than last. i realized however, that that is not an excuse for me to not blog. I can’t keep giving myself extensions forever. my lists were boring. because i live an insane nomadic workaholic student life, i use the same objects daily, and very few of them were actually based in the home. Day by day, i kept writing the...

this week...
has been full of a month’s worth of things…
and this month has been full of a year,
last friday I had the opportunity to see the dalai lama speak, which was an unbelievable experience. His positivity towards life was infectious, as he spoke about acceptance, compassion, science, and spirituality. his smile and laugh was contagious as he told us anecdotes about his travels, and his...
update
Ok, so I know my “Challenge” has come to an apparent halt after just one day, but I promise, I will post it all at the end of the week. it’s too much to do at the end of a day, but i am keeping track in my handy little notebook. What I am learning so far, is that i use the same few things everyday, with a few exceptions and additions. this week, which is not that different from...

live with less
Clutter and unnecessary stuff can become a burden on how we live our lives. I think many people associate “home” with “stuff” and i’m not sure this needs to be the case.
How do you determine what items get displayed, and what items get put into hiding in storage? I think that having multifunctional items is key, and if you own something, it better be something great,...
montreal- jeudi
Thursday Morning, we loaded up the buses, went to have crepes for breakfast, and headed off to CCA, the Canadian Centre of Architecture, where I honestly spent most of my time in the absolutely gorgeous design bookstore. I bought a book called Obsessive Consumerism, which relates to my house concept that is starting to form. (stay tuned for my next post!)
After leaving CCA, Michael Laura and I...
montreal- mercredi
On Wednesday, morning, Fil and I went with the second years to the Grand Bibliotheque, Library designed by Patkau Architects, and UQAM (Universite du Quebec A Montreal). The Library was beautiful. I have a bit of a love for libraries, and have used them as inspiration, or incorporated them into my designs on multiple occasions. (Retail and Corporate applications) This public Library was lovely, it...
montreal- mardi
This week, Laura, Michael, Fil and I had the opportunity to go to montreal, as a “chaperone” for the lower year trip at rsid.- because i did not have my computer with me, blogging didn’t happen daily, but i will now do a daily walk-through of this lovely trip. (also, just a note, i wasn’t the most committed to my camera on this trip, so some photos will have to wait until I...
thankful for the trees
Last weekend, i went home for thanksgiving, which in my family, involves 2 dinners. I ate more turkey and pumpkin deserts than i could handle, and had a lovely time with all of my family. my sister needed to take some photos for one of her classes, so we went on a bike ride through the forest and park next to my house. It was the first time I’d been on my bike in at least 6 years. I...
happy thanksgiving!
my homes
my lovely friend evelyn has posted something that i feel compelled to repost, (sorry ev!)-
http://thewildernessdowntown.com/
It is an interactive music video for the arcade fire. it incorporates your unique past into the video, in a way that actually gave me chills, using googlemaps images of your childhood home.
This got me thinking about my homes, and my childhood. for me, i lived in 3...

this lovely little blog is one of my daily checkpoints for beautiful things. they post a zillion things per day- from food, to diy projects and sneak peaks. it’s somewhat of a frilly guilty pleasure, but i don’t even care. i love it.

home...
a place to live.
what does “home” even really mean? is home only one place? is it ever-changing? does it rely on the stuff or people that occupy it? does it rely on memories created in a specific place, or is the promise of tomorrow enough?
there is a conversation from one of my very favourite movies, Garden State that i am constantly reminded of. I don’t know if I agree, or...
